While you didn't specify what compiler you use, there should be a set of options for your current project along the lines of 'Additional Include Directories' (VC2005) or similar.

These other 3 projects I think are failing because of the one above right? The catch is the compiler doesn't necessarily know where the Windows and DirectX headers are at. The debug version compiles ok, it's just the release version.
